A bit about me...

My wife, Jenny, and I are products of public schools that opened doors for us: from science labs and libraries to stages and sporting fields. Today, as a parent of a PAUSD 6th grader, I want that same rich, multi-faceted experience for her and every student in our district.

PAUSD sits at the center of Silicon Valley, adjacent to a wealth of technical, academic, and scientific resources. We have great families and great teachers. What we need now is the governance to match.

​

My commitment to this race is personal. After my daughter and her classmates experienced a serious school incident. In advocating for the group of classmates and their familiesI saw firsthand that our system can be opaque and difficult for families to navigate. When I see an important problem I’m the type of person who speaks up and works to solve it: as a parent advocate, VP of Communications for Greene PTA, and now as your candidate for Palo Alto School Board.

I’m running to ensure that collaboration and transparency are built into the DNA of our schools. I’ll work to restore a district culture where stakeholders can trust each other again, and all students can thrive.

My career has been defined by leading extremely diverse teams through complex and challenging times, including scaling multinational organizations, launching startups, working with non-profits and governments. I will bring that same executive rigor to the Board, ensuring that every dollar and every decision is focused on students wellbeing, comprehensive academic excellence and practical technology (see platform) - with an eye toward measurable results.

By preparing students academically and socially, adapting thoughtfully to new technology, and providing well calibrated support and resources, we can ensure PAUSD continues to deliver the high-quality public education our community expects and deserves.

I come from a family of educators, judges and journalists, and I’m proud to carry that legacy forward. I would be honored to earn your support so we can work together to change our schools to be more transparent, well governed and collaborative. This will be the basis for achieving even more in the future.
